Gerardo represents clients in antitrust matters including those that have an important element regarding mergers and acquisitions, investigations and complex litigation. He has experience in a wide range of industries including the following: Aviation, Agriculture, Broadcasting, Chemicals, Consumer Products, Energy, Entertainment, Financial Services, Ground Transportation, Media, Pharmaceuticals, Private Equity, Rail Freight Transportation, Real Estate, Retail and Telecommunications. Gerardo is a former officer of the Mexican Federal Antitrust Commission (COFECO) in Mexico City and former intern (appointed pursuant to the U.S. Safe Web Act of 2006) of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in Washington, D.C. He has been involved in significant transactions of many Fortune 500 companies and other public companies in Mexico. He frequently appears before the competition authorities and the Federal Courts in Mexico. Gerardo has also represented several clients in connection with cartel investigations, unilateral conducts and other government investigations related to barriers to entry, market regulation, rate regulation and dominance.
