Von Wobeser y Sierra S.C. counsel to Anheuser Busch InBev in the acquisition of Grupo Modelo.

The Corporate team at Von Wobeser y Sierra lead by Claus Von Wobeser, Luis Burgueño, Fernando Carreño and Gloría Martínez successfully counseled Belgian brewer, Anheuser Busch InBev in the acquisition of the rest of Mexican brewer Grupo Modelo for 20.1 billion usd.  



Modelo is the maker of Mexico´s renowned beers including Corona, Victoria and Negra Modelo among others.  A-B InBev already owned a noncontrolling  50% stake in the company and will buy the remaining stake for $9.15 usd per share (a 30% premium) over Grupo Modelo´s closing stock price of June 22nd 2012.


Anheuser Busch InBev is the world´s largest brewer, with a portfolio of  more than 200 brands and 116,000 employees. The acquisition is the second largest in the company´s history.  With this latest negotiation it will have access to one of the largest beer markets in all of Latin America and will operate in 24 countries.
