Energy Bill opens the Mexican energy market for foreign and national private entities.

December 13th, 2013.

Dear clients and friends,

This December 10, 2013, with the vote of the majority of the political parties, the PRI, PAN, PVEM and PANAL, the plenary of the Senate approved the energy bill with 95 votes in favor and 28 against, which bill was also approved by the Deputies Chamber on December 11th at 11:05 p.m., in general, with 354 votes in favor and 134 against. Now it only remains for the majority of the local congresses to approve it, which would require the approval of 17 congresses of the 31 states and the Federal District of Mexico, and which is very likely to occur since the PRI holds the majority of the local congresses.
