New Immigration Law in Mexico

On September 28th, 2012 a new Regulation of the Immigration Law of Mexico (the Regulation) was published in the Mexican Official Gazette and became effective on November 9th, 2012.
 
December 27th, 2012.
 
The regulations regarding the General Law of Population on migratory control, verification and regulation were annulled, including the Manual on Criteria and Migratory Procedures of the National Institute of Migration through which the present visa designations of Non Immigrant, Immigrant and Immigrated were defined. Anyone with a current visa (FM-2 or FM-3) can continue to use their current visa until the expiration date, at which point they will have to renew under one of the categories outlined below.

Federal Labor Law Reforms

The labor reform, which has been promoted as a tool for increasing the productivity of the country, was generally well received by the business and labor community, since it introduced novel legal concepts.

Our Partner, Fernando Carreño, participated in the exclusive event which took place on October 2nd-4th 2012 in Panama City.

This is the IX event that is hosted ICN, which deals in antitrust topics. The main focus of discussion was based on the international strategies to investigate, prevent, detect and penalize monopolistic practices.
